Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work A WORKER´S ARM PASSING THROUGH THE CEILING OF AN ART SPACE FROM A DWELLING Calle Orizaba, 160. Mexico City, Mexico, January 2004. by Santiago Sierra. The price achieved of GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,410.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Santiago Sierra have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 23,125.00 (€ 27,036.88).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A WORKER´S ARM PASSING THROUGH THE CEILING OF AN ART SPACE FROM A DWELLING Calle Orizaba, 160. Mexico City, Mexico, January 2004. von Santiago Sierra zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.410,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Santiago Sierra auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.125,00 (€ 27.036,88).
