Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna, which included the work A boy leading a blind man to receive alms by Samuel van Hoogstraten. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,803.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel van Hoogstraten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Crucifixion in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 319,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna durch, in der auch die Arbeit A boy leading a blind man to receive alms von Samuel van Hoogstraten zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.803,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel van Hoogstraten erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Crucifixion im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 319.000,00.
