Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view from a villa, with a woman seated at a fountain and an avenue of statues by Samuel van Hoogstraten was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,223.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel van Hoogstraten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Crucifixion in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 319,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A view from a villa, with a woman seated at a fountain and an avenue of statues von Samuel van Hoogstraten kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.223,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel van Hoogstraten erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Crucifixion im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 319.000,00.
