In September 2003 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel, which included the work Female Kudu by Samuel Daniell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,151.00 (€ 2,166.64), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Samuel Daniell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work African Scenery And Animals (Abbey Travel 321, Nos. 1-18, 20-32) in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,175.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Exploration and Travel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Female Kudu von Samuel Daniell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 2.166,64) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Daniell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit African Scenery And Animals (Abbey Travel 321, Nos. 1-18, 20-32) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.175,94).
