Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled by Samsul Arifin was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 13,279.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Samsul Arifin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled von Samsul Arifin wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 13.279,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samsul Arifin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27).
