Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Samsul Arifin could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian auction, the work Telescope changed hands for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 22,537.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 240,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samsul Arifin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean), which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samsul Arifin konnte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian wechselte die Arbeit Telescope für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 22.537,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 240.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Samsul Arifin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27) versteigert wurde.
