Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Rindu Booming (Missing Booming) by Samsul Arifin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 220,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 23,439.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samsul Arifin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean), which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rindu Booming (Missing Booming) von Samsul Arifin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 220.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 23.439,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Samsul Arifin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27) versteigert wurde.
