This artwork by Samsul Arifin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. In the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Main Coret Begitu Saja (To Scribble Without Thinking) sold for HKD 620,000.00 (€ 57,256.76) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Samsul Arifin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samsul Arifin erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Main Coret Begitu Saja (To Scribble Without Thinking) für HKD 620.000,00 (€ 57.256,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Samsul Arifin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) im Mai 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27).
