This artwork by Samsul Arifin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Lupa Cara Berpikir (Forget How To Think) sold for HKD 800,000.00 (€ 69,522.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 360,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Samsul Arifin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samsul Arifin erzielte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Lupa Cara Berpikir (Forget How To Think) für HKD 800.000,00 (€ 69.522,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 360.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Samsul Arifin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) im Mai 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27).
