The work Education by Samsul Arifin was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. It achieved a price of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 10,400.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Admittedly, works by Samsul Arifin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 920,000.00 (€ 82,298.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Education von Samsul Arifin kam im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 10.400,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samsul Arifin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Terapung di Laut Asia (Floating in the Asian Ocean) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 920.000,00 (€ 82.298,27).
