Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian, which included the work Hurriya (Freedom) by Samir Sayegh. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,786.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samir Sayegh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Noon, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08).
