Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Samir Sayegh could be acquired at Bonhams in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art auction, the work Baraka changed hands for GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,999.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samir Sayegh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Noon, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08).
