In December 2010 Sothebys in Doha held the auction Hurouf: The Art of The Word, which included the work Baraka by Samir Sayegh. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,304.54), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Samir Sayegh have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March last year the work Noon was auctioned for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2010 führte Sothebys in Doha die Auktion Hurouf: The Art of The Word durch, in der auch die Arbeit Baraka von Samir Sayegh zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.304,54) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Samir Sayegh konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März letzten Jahres die Arbeit Noon für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.408,08) versteigert.
