Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2006 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental and Russian Pictures, which included the work The Gloucester Docks; and My first still life by Sam Morse Brown. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,319.82). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Morse Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The crucifixion of humanity, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,030.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental and Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Gloucester Docks; and My first still life von Sam Morse Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.319,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sam Morse Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The crucifixion of humanity beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 5.400,00 (€ 8.030,14) versteigert wurde.
