Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2006 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental and Russian Pictures, which included the work Duke and Duchess; Winkie; Woofs and wags for Christmas; and Friendly fire, two bullterriers romping in long grass by Sam Morse Brown. The price achieved of GBP 576.00 (€ 856.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Sam Morse Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The crucifixion of humanity in August 2006 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,030.14).
