In March 2010 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction THE BAT ARTVENTURE COLLECTION formerly known as THE PETER STUYVESANT COLLECTION, which included the work American Black Mischief by Sam Middleton. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,000.00 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Middleton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jazz on Easter Sunday, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,455.27).

Im März 2010 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion THE BAT ARTVENTURE COLLECTION formerly known as THE PETER STUYVESANT COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Black Mischief von Sam Middleton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.000,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sam Middleton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jazz on Easter Sunday beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.455,27) versteigert wurde.
