Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sam Messer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Celine'S Castle sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,349.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sam Messer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Helping Hand sold at auction in February 2007 with the realized price of USD 3,900.00 (€ 2,947.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sam Messer erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Celine'S Castle für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.349,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sam Messer; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Helping Hand im Februar 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 3.900,00 (€ 2.947,85).
