Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work A still life with apples by Salomon Garf was worth EUR 4,935.00 to a buyer in January 2002. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 1,400.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Salomon Garf; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Strandszene sold at auction in November 2014 with the realized price of EUR 6,450.00.
