This artwork by Saliba Douaihy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I auction, the work without title sold for USD 112,500.00 (€ 82,757.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saliba Douaihy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 336,500.00 (€ 288,346.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Saliba Douaihy erzielte im Oktober 2013 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 112.500,00 (€ 82.757,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Saliba Douaihy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 336.500,00 (€ 288.346,19) versteigert wurde.
