In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Untitled (Church) by Saliba Douaihy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,394.74), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Saliba Douaihy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 336,500.00 (€ 288,346.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Church) von Saliba Douaihy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.394,74) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Saliba Douaihy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.500,00 (€ 288.346,19).
