Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Sakti Burman was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 48,956.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sakti Burman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rêve de Maya (Maya's Dream), which sold at auction in September this year for USD 170,100.00 (€ 160,714.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sakti Burman wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 48.956,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sakti Burman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rêve de Maya (Maya's Dream) beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für USD 170.100,00 (€ 160.714,29) versteigert wurde.
