Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Orchids on rockwork, hanging scroll, ink on paper, signed Hassen dojin and sealed Saka Mabuchi in, Azana iwaku Hyakusen and another seal by Sakaki Hyakusen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,318.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sakaki Hyakusen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Foreigners, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,460.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orchids on rockwork, hanging scroll, ink on paper, signed Hassen dojin and sealed Saka Mabuchi in, Azana iwaku Hyakusen and another seal von Sakaki Hyakusen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.318,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sakaki Hyakusen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Foreigners beobachtet, die im November 2003 für GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.460,14) versteigert wurde.
