Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sakaki Hyakusen could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART auction, the work Landscape changed hands for USD 956.00 (€ 877.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sakaki Hyakusen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Foreigners in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,460.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sakaki Hyakusen konnte im März 2003 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART wechselte die Arbeit Landscape für USD 956,00 (€ 877,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sakaki Hyakusen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Foreigners im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.460,14).
