Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Work (Red) by Saitō Yoshishige was worth HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 171,463.48) to a buyer in April 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 480,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Saitō Yoshishige; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Work sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 353,000.00 (€ 334,217.00).
