Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaPhotographs, which included the work 'Rockport-Nude' by Ruth Bernhard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,088.00 (€ 983.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Bernhard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Ruth Bernhard' in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaPhotographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Rockport-Nude' von Ruth Bernhard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.088,00 (€ 983,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Bernhard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Ruth Bernhard' im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68).
