This artwork by Ruskin Spear achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Guinness sold for GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,213.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ruskin Spear have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Arty Tie in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 48,032.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ruskin Spear erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Guinness für GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.213,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ruskin Spear auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Arty Tie im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 48.032,33).
