Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Palace Guard by Rudolf Ernst was sold in the Important Works from the Najd Collection, Part II auction at Sothebys in London in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 89,482.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rudolf Ernst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 759,000.00 (€ 880,385.57).
