Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Christies in London held the auction Orientalist Art, which included the work The narghile Smoker by Rudolf Ernst. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 69,771.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 759,000.00 (€ 880,385.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The narghile Smoker von Rudolf Ernst zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 69.771,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rudolf Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 759.000,00 (€ 880.385,57).
