Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work L'Étang Sacré by Rudolf Ernst for USD 69,300.00 (€ 69,760.42). This price was achieved in the auction The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 2 |Old Master, 19th and 20th Century Paintings, Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 759,000.00 (€ 880,385.57).
