Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Outside The Mosque by Rudolf Ernst was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 151,432.42). Admittedly, works by Rudolf Ernst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 759,000.00 (€ 880,385.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Outside The Mosque von Rudolf Ernst im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 137.500,00 (€ 151.432,42) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rudolf Ernst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Mosque Of Rüstem Pasha, Constantinople im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 759.000,00 (€ 880.385,57).
