Auction result well in line with expectations
The work With Grandma And Her Cats by Rudolf Epp was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,734.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rudolf Epp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The toast, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 7,285.00 (€ 12,471.63).
