Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Venetian Backwater with the Campanile of San Geremia church by Rubens Santoro for USD 40,320.00 (€ 37,573.39). This price was achieved in the auction Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Rubens Santoro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venezia, Il Canal Grande Alla Salute in June 2001 with an auction result of EUR 156,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Venetian Backwater with the Campanile of San Geremia church von Rubens Santoro für USD 40.320,00 (€ 37.573,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rubens Santoro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venezia, Il Canal Grande Alla Salute im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 156.800,00.
