Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art | New York, which included the work Lifelines by Roy Newell. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,792.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy Newell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,956.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lifelines von Roy Newell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.792,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy Newell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.956,89) versteigert wurde.
