Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Roy Lichtenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2006. In the Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Screen With Brushstroke sold for USD 352,000.00 (€ 265,440.01) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roy Lichtenstein erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Screen With Brushstroke für USD 352.000,00 (€ 265.440,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
