Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Brushstroke Head by Roy Lichtenstein was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session) auction at Christies in New York in May 2004. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 679,500.00 (€ 556,192.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Brushstroke Head von Roy Lichtenstein wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session) bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 679.500,00 (€ 556.192,19) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
