Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hay Cart by Rowland Wheelwright was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in October 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,031.50 (€ 2,923.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rowland Wheelwright have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The bluebell wood in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,331.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hay Cart von Rowland Wheelwright wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.031,50 (€ 2.923,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowland Wheelwright auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The bluebell wood im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.331,09).
