Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The reluctant excursion by Frederick Rowland Emett was sold in the ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS AND PRINTED BOOKS auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,310.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Rowland Emett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Shell X100 By-Plane in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38).

Die Arbeit The reluctant excursion von Frederick Rowland Emett wurde im Dezember 2000 in der Auktion ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS AND PRINTED BOOKS bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.310,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Rowland Emett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Shell X100 By-Plane im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.820,38).
