This artwork by Frederick Rowland Emett achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2007. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction, the work 'And that's said to be the most painted village in England' sold for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,386.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Rowland Emett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Shell X100 By-Plane in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Rowland Emett erzielte im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations wurde die Arbeit 'And that's said to be the most painted village in England' für GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.386,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Rowland Emett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Shell X100 By-Plane im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.820,38).
