Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work A Pleasing and seasonable prospect of Hatfield at Christmastide, shewing distinguished persons, hush-hush craft, divers activities and the like by Frederick Rowland Emett for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,871.76). This price was achieved in the auction ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS AND PRINTED BOOKS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frederick Rowland Emett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Shell X100 By-Plane in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS AND PRINTED BOOKS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Rowland Emett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Shell X100 By-Plane im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.820,38).
