Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled, 1959 by Rotraut. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,566.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rotraut achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 192,802.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1959 von Rotraut zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.566,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rotraut erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 192.802,06).
