Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Plain View I by Rosalie Gascoigne was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. It changed hands for a price of AUD 43,200.00 (€ 25,832.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rosalie Gascoigne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beaten Track in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 373,400.00 (€ 229,531.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Plain View I von Rosalie Gascoigne wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 43.200,00 (€ 25.832,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rosalie Gascoigne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beaten Track im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 373.400,00 (€ 229.531,09).
