Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Acanthus by Rosalie Gascoigne was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The price achieved of AUD 114,000.00 (€ 68,673.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rosalie Gascoigne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beaten Track, which sold at auction in May 2005 for AUD 373,400.00 (€ 229,531.09).
