Auction result well in line with expectations
The work NINU (GREATER BILBY) DREAMING AT TJITURRULNGA, 1999 by Ronnie Tjampitjinpa was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,151.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ronnie Tjampitjinpa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tingari Ceremonies At The Site Of Pintjun in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 243,750.00 (€ 217,110.54).
