This artwork by Rong Geng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June this year. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy - Rhymeprose on Literature sold for HKD 100,800.00 (€ 11,778.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rong Geng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Scholar Fishing sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of HKD 141,600.00 (€ 16,168.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rong Geng erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy - Rhymeprose on Literature für HKD 100.800,00 (€ 11.778,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rong Geng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Scholar Fishing im Mai 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.168,81).
