A top price for Rong Geng - as previously expected
In May 2017 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Scholar Fishing by Rong Geng. The price achieved of HKD 141,600.00 (€ 16,168.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Scholar Fishing is the most expensive artwork by Rong Geng that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2017 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scholar Fishing von Rong Geng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.168,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Scholar Fishing das teuerste Kunstwerk von Rong Geng, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
