Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rtw (Re-Inventing The Wheel) by Ron Arad was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,804.06). Admittedly, works by Ron Arad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work London Papardelle in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 139,250.00 (€ 177,493.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rtw (Re-Inventing The Wheel) von Ron Arad im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.804,06) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ron Arad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit London Papardelle im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.250,00 (€ 177.493,79).
