Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Romeo Tabuena could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online auction, the work Village Scene changed hands for HKD 6,250.00 (€ 714.79) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Romeo Tabuena achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Beggars in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 48,854.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Romeo Tabuena konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Village Scene für HKD 6.250,00 (€ 714,79) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Romeo Tabuena erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Beggars im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 48.854,38).
