Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Misty Landscape by Romeo Tabuena was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 18,750.00 (€ 2,153.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Romeo Tabuena achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Beggars in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 48,854.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Misty Landscape von Romeo Tabuena im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 18.750,00 (€ 2.153,64) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Romeo Tabuena erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Beggars im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 48.854,38).
