In April 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Balls Head, Sydney by Roland Shakespeare Wakelin. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,599.00 (€ 1,329.18), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roland Shakespeare Wakelin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Street Scene, Mosman in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 64,625.00 (€ 38,736.78).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Balls Head, Sydney von Roland Shakespeare Wakelin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 1.599,00 (€ 1.329,18) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roland Shakespeare Wakelin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Street Scene, Mosman im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 64.625,00 (€ 38.736,78).
