Die Arbeit Australian beach Scene, Manly von Roland Shakespeare Wakelin kam im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 11.400,00 (€ 6.654,73) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 27%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roland Shakespeare Wakelin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Street Scene, Mosman im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 64.625,00 (€ 38.736,78).
